What We Do
At JVW, we offer psychotherapy both in person and remotely in order to make the therapeutic work fit into your life and busy days.
I follow the adage that “nothing goes away until it has taught us what we need to know”, and I hope to support both individuals and couples to process and implement these discoveries we make together.
It takes time to uncover everything we grapple with, and I create a safe space to explore the things in life that make us feel stuck. With empathy and insight I promote processing, healing, and growth from the challenges that life inevitably brings.
Individual Therapy
I thrive in co-creating one-on-one connections for individuals who want to delve deep into examining their patterns and what is shaping their identities as they seek peace and greater understanding of who they are in the world.
Life can present us with various challenges, and individual therapy provides a dedicated space for self-exploration and growth. In our one-on-one sessions, you will have the opportunity to delve into your thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a confidential and supportive environment.
Together, we'll work towards understanding the roots of your concerns, developing coping strategies, and fostering a sense of empowerment. Whether you're facing personal struggles, navigating life transitions, or seeking self-discovery, individual therapy at JVW is a personalized journey toward positive change.
Couples Therapy
I have a special interest in working with couples to improve their communication and dynamics in relational contexts. I have found that working with the couple as a unit also helps both individuals grow on their own as well. I learn so much about people from being able to witness them in conversation with their significant others, and it is powerful and enriching to be able to track our patterns happening in real time in the session. Couples work encourages us to step outside of the familiar conversations we are stuck in and identify the hopes and needs under the problems we bring to therapy.
Whether you're in the midst of a crisis or simply looking to enhance your relationship, couples therapy is a proactive step towards building a resilient and fulfilling partnership.
Group Therapy
Group therapy offers a unique space where participants can share their stories, receive and offer support, and learn from one another's journeys. It's an opportunity to connect, grow, and develop valuable skills in a safe and empathetic environment.
Individuals can come together to explore common challenges, gain diverse perspectives, and build a community of mutual understanding. It's a space where connections flourish, resilience strengthens, and personal growth becomes a collaborative endeavor. Join our group sessions and embark on a path of healing and solidarity alongside others seeking similar transformation.
EMDR Trained
What is EMDR therapy?
EMDR is a treatment to process traumatic memories. I have a great deal of experience working with adults who have gone through trauma and need to safely process it while identifying triggers and recognizing their resiliency and coping strategies. When we practice EMDR, I carefully guide you toward accessing traumatic events and reprocessing them in order to repair with the hope of reducing symptoms.
